Volt Gifts
Volt Gifts is an AI-powered gift recommendation site I built because finding gifts for people is genuinely hard. You know the feeling - someone's birthday is coming up and you have no idea what to get them, so you end up wandering around a shopping centre or scrolling aimlessly online.
What it does
Volt pulls in products from Amazon, eBay, and other retailers, then uses AI to match gifts to the person and occasion. You tell it who you are buying for, set a budget, and it starts showing you options. The more you interact with it, the better it gets at suggesting things they would actually want.
How the swiping works
The interface is swipe-based, similar to dating apps but for gifts:
- Swipe UP for gifts you don't like
- Swipe LEFT for ones you might consider
- Swipe DOWN for ones you love
Volt learns from your swipes and adjusts what it shows you. If you keep swiping down on fitness gear, it will start showing more of that. If you swipe up on candles and socks, they stop appearing. Gifts Volt is confident about get a sparkle marker so you know it is pretty sure you will like them.
Behind the scenes
The AI considers things like the recipient's interests, the occasion, age group, and your past choices to narrow things down. It also throws in some wildcard suggestions you might not have thought of. Sometimes the best gift is something you didn't even know existed. You can filter by category (Electronics, Health and Wellness, General, etc.), age group, and price range if you want more control.
The learning resets whenever you want, so each gift search starts fresh. Products are shown in a different order each time too, so you are not just seeing the same things over and over.
